The process

Three steps, one form

01

Upload photos and details

Model, condition, photos of the watch. Two minutes from your phone.

02

Get an estimate

A value indication based on real quotes for your reference.

03

A dealer gets in touch

Your request goes to a certified dealer in our network, who makes you a real offer within 48 hours. From there, negotiation, verification and payment happen directly between you and the dealer — we just make the introduction, we don't handle the sale.

Tell us about your watch

The more detail you give, the more accurate the estimate and the faster the dealer can make you a real offer.

The watch
The reference is the code engraved between the lugs at 12 o'clock, under the bracelet. Giving it makes the estimate far more precise.

Where to find it: on models from 2005 onwards it's engraved on the rehaut, the inner edge between the crystal and the dial, near 12 o'clock. On older models it's instead between the lugs at 6 o'clock — you may need to remove the bracelet to see it. It's not required, but if you can find it, it helps the dealer verify the watch faster.

The network

Certified dealers, not anonymous private sellers

01

Verified dealers only

Every dealer in the network is a certified retailer, not a private seller or an anonymous middleman.

02

One point of contact

Your request goes to one dealer at a time: you always know exactly who contacted you and why.

03

Direct negotiation

Once the dealer replies, price, verification and payment are agreed directly between the two of you.

Frequently asked questions

Before you start

Who handles the sale?

Oyster Catcher just makes the introduction, nothing more: we don't act as intermediaries in the negotiation, and we don't handle payments or shipping. Once the dealer replies, everything else happens directly between you and them.

Is the estimate binding?

No. It's calculated from real market quotes for your reference, but the final offer comes from the dealer after they've seen the watch. It's a reference point, not a guaranteed price.

Do I have to ship the watch myself?

No. First you get a call or email proposal from the dealer. If you accept, the agreement is with the dealer. You'll settle this aspect together, based on how they operate.

Does it work if the watch has no box or papers?

Yes. Box and papers affect the estimate — a full set is worth more — but not eligibility for the RCPO programme: a watch without papers can still qualify, if it meets the other requirements.
